Wessex Ships First Grain out of Poole in 2009
Wessex Grain is the first company to ship grain out of Poole this year. In its
continuing quest to find the best markets for growers, it exported a shipload of feed barley to Southern Ireland in September.
Annual Results put
Wessex Grain in Strong Position to Face the
Future
Grain trader Wessex Grain will this week report excellent results for
2008, which
have put the company in a strong position to face the future. The
results, which
will be presented to its members at its annual meeting, are described
as ‘in line
with board expectations’. In the year to July 31st 2008, turnover was
up by 51% at
£63.8 million, while profits rose by 150% and margin per tonne by 46%,
and the Company’s Balance Sheet further strengthened to £2.8 million.
